About GGA
What is the Green Gear Alliance?
GGA is a non-profit industry initiative that supports organizations in collecting and recycling used workwear, safety shoes, and other PPE. We arrange return logistics and ensure responsible processing of materials. This way we work together on circular PPE.
How does collection and recycling work in practice?
GGA works with prepaid collection containers that can be placed directly at companies. You use these to collect workwear, safety shoes, and PPE. Once a collection container is full, you report it via your personal GGA dashboard and it will be collected the next business day.
In which countries is GGA operational?
The prepaid collection containers and the GGA dashboard are operational in the Benelux region. Contact info@greengearalliance.eu for possibilities outside the Benelux.
Who is GGA for?
GGA is an initiative from the PPE industry in which parties from the entire supply chain collaborate.
> End users of PPE connect directly themselves or via their dealer and collect.
> PPE dealers are ambassadors of return logistics and facilitate this for their customers.
> Manufacturers and importers of PPE join as participants of the foundation and thus contribute to circular PPE.
Getting Started for B2B End Users
How does my organization start collecting and recycling?
Ask about the options from your supplier of workwear, safety shoes, and PPE.
You can always register directly at www.greengearalliance.eu/register, but we recommend end users tackle collection together with their supplier.
Which suppliers of workwear, safety shoes, and PPE can I contact for collection and recycling?
Check the public list of dealers participating in GGA (internal link coming soon) or ask your supplier about participation.
How do I place my first order?
1. Log in to your dashboard.
2. Go to the Partner section in the dashboard.
3. First create a branch/location for your organization.
4. Then go to My GGA to order collection containers and later report a return.
Getting Started for Dealers
How does my organization start collecting and recycling for customers?
Go to www.greengearalliance.eu/register and create an account for your organization and those of your customers. Note: we perform a check before you place your first order, this happens automatically. Do you want to order but the check hasn't been done yet? Contact us at info@greengearalliance.eu.
How do I prepare my first customer to order?
1. Log in to your dashboard.
2. Go to the Partners section in the dashboard.
3. Add a partner (this is your customer) and fill in the details.
4. Add at least one branch/location under that partner.
5. Go to My GGA to order collection containers for that location and later report a return.
Getting started for Producers
How does my organization participate in the route to circular PPE?
Contact us regarding participation in the foundation via anne@greengearalliance.eu.
Does participating in the GGA fulfill my company's EPR obligation?
No, participating in the GGA does not automatically fulfill your company's EPR obligation. To do so, you must also register with a producer organization (PRO). We are currently holding discussions with the GGA regarding collaboration with producer organizations in the Netherlands and the EU. Want to know more about this? Send an email to anne@greengearalliance.eu.
Internal link coming soon
Why should I participate in the GGA as a producer?
Participation in the GGA is for producers and importers who want to take immediate, concrete steps towards circular PPE and help build a return system that works for PPE.
Materials & Collection
Which materials am I allowed to hand in?
✔️Workwear, safety shoes, and other PPE.
✔️All brands, including brands that are not affiliated with GGA themselves.
✔️Items with company logos.
What is not allowed in the collection bag?
❌Chemically contaminated products.
❌Heavily contaminated products.
❌Wet products.
❌Textile scraps.
❌Gas, CO2, or printing cartridges.
Can workwear with our company logo also be collected?
Yes. Clothing with logos is processed confidentially and does not end up in reuse, but is recycled via appropriate processing routes.
What happens to my material after collection?
It is sorted and responsibly processed/recycled, for the best possible application. The impact dashboard provides insight into the processing route and results.
Last year, we achieved the following processing results: textile fiberization 47%; shoe recycling 32%; textiles to cleaning cloths 17%; textiles to reuse 2%; textiles to waste 1%; other PPE recycling 1%.
Will I receive proof or a certificate for sustainability reporting?
The impact dashboard provides insight into collected volumes and the processing route. This is used by many organizations as substantiation for internal reports, audits, and certifications.
Why don't I see my submitted material immediately in my dashboard?
Processing reports arrive at the beginning of each month covering the previous month and are usually processed in the dashboard halfway through that month. Therefore, you will only see your results in the month immediately following collection.
Prices & Ordering
Does GGA make money from my collection?
No, GGA does not make money from collected materials, but pays for their processing and recycling. The price of the collection containers covers these costs.
Do I get money for the material I submit?
No, GGA charges processing costs instead. In return, we handle sorting, responsible processing, and provide insight through the impact dashboard.
What do the prepaid collection containers cost?
Log in to the GGA dashboard for current prices.
Prices Aug 26 2026

Are you a PPE suplier? Ask for supplier pricing.
What is included in the price of the prepaid collection containers?
The price of the MiniBags and BigBags always includes the following: delivery, pickup, sorting, processing, and impact update.
Do I pay extra for transport when I report a collection container for return?
No, this is included in the price of the prepaid MiniBags and BigBags.
What is the difference between a MiniBag and a BigBag and which should I choose?
For smaller locations (indication: 0-50 employees), we recommend the MiniBags with DisplayBox.
For larger locations (>50 employees), we recommend a BigBag with holder. The BigBag should be placed on a pallet.
I have a large quantity of material (>1,000 kg), how does that work?
For large volumes, we have separate rates per kg. We invoice afterwards based on weight. Contact us at info@greengearalliance.eu to request these prices and schedule it.
My organization is a dealer, do the same rates apply to me?
We offer reduced dealer rates due to the bundling function of dealers. Contact us at info@greengearalliance.eu for the current dealer price list and terms.
Collecting Full Containers
How do I report a pickup?
Full collection containers can be reported for pickup via the GGA dashboard.
Which transporter does GGA work with?
We work with DHL.
How long does it take before my pickup is collected?
The pickup will be performed by DHL the next business day.
What time will the driver arrive?
The driver will arrive between 09:00 and 18:00 on the agreed day. Unfortunately, there is no possibility to schedule a more specific time.
How should I prepare for the pickup?
Put the MiniBag or BigBag ready on the day of pickup.
Printing a label is not necessary, DHL will bring it with them. Do clearly mark your company name on each bag before the pickup takes place.
Pallets can be exchanged with the DHL driver.
Can I cancel or modify a pickup?
Contact us at info@greengearalliance.eu with your details. Cancellation is usually possible until the day before the pickup.
Help, my pickup failed, what now?
When a pickup is scheduled via the dashboard but fails, you will receive an email. Schedule a new pickup, or contact us at info@greengearalliance.eu to have it rescheduled.
Common causes for failed pickups:
The contact person at the location was not aware of the pickup. / Make sure the correct contact details are filled in under the branch for the partner or send the confirmation to the correct contact person.
The MiniBag was too full, so DHL couldn't pick it up. / Contact info@greengearalliance.eu. Next time do not put more than 20kg in the MiniBag.
The driver couldn't find the location. / Add driver instructions in the dashboard under Partner(s) > Branch (edit) > Branch details > Instructions for the driver.
Can I deliver my material myself instead of having it picked up?
Yes, this is possible at our sorter in Tilburg and we have reduced rates for this. Contact us at info@greengearalliance.eu to request this. Invoicing takes place afterwards based on the weighed weight.
