Green Gear Alliance (GGA) and European Recycling Platform (ERP) are partnering to offer workwear and PPE manufacturers and importers an integrated solution for their Dutch EPR obligations, collection, and recycling. Want to benefit from this? Read on!
The strength of the GGA and ERP partnership is that we work together with all parties in the supply chain to build a system that works for our sector. While ERP Netherlands handles the legal execution of the EPR obligation, GGA manages the practical collection, return logistics, and recycling of used workwear and PPE.
This way, we're creating an EPR system that not only meets legal requirements but also fits the reality of the workwear and PPE industry. And you can benefit directly from this partnership!
Note that GGA is not a producer organization. We've held discussions with various producer organizations and, after careful consideration, have partnered with ERP. GGA participants are free to enter into or maintain their own direct partnerships with (other) producer organizations.

What do you need to do?
Here's how to participate:
1. Check your current EPR enrollment
Find out which producer organization you're currently with. Want to switch to ERP Netherlands? Make sure to end your existing agreement on time.
2. Register with ERP Netherlands
Sign up to fulfill your EPR obligation via ERP Netherlands.
3. Register as a GGA participant
Sign up as a participant (sponsor) of Green Gear Alliance using the registration form on the right.
4. Receive a discount on your EPR tariff
Enrolled with both ERP Netherlands and GGA? Then you'll benefit from a lower EPR tariff.
5. ERP Netherlands executes your EPR obligation
Your EPR Textiles obligations will be handled via ERP Netherlands.

ERP Netherlands is a producer organization that supports manufacturers and importers in meeting their legal extended producer responsibility (EPR) obligations. As part of the international European Recycling Platform, ERP develops efficient and sustainable collection and recycling systems for various product streams across Europe. Together with Green Gear Alliance, ERP is committed to creating a circular textile chain for workwear; not just in the Netherlands, but eventually across the EU.

Are you a workwear producer or importer? this is relevant for you!
This partnership is directly relevant for manufacturers and importers selling workwear and textiles on the Dutch market. Through ERP Netherlands, you can meet your legal EPR obligations in the Netherlands from 2027 onward.
With this partnership, we combine the best of both worlds: legally compliant EPR fulfillment through ERP Netherlands and practical circular solutions through Green Gear Alliance. Together, we're building a sustainable system for workwear and PPE.
SAFETY SHOE MANUFACTURERS AND IMPORTERS; TAKE NOTE!
Safety shoes currently have no extended producer responsibility (EPR) obligation. However, expectations are that this requirement will be expanded to footwear in the coming years, from 2028 onward.
To prepare, GGA and ERP are jointly exploring how a future collection and recycling system for safety shoes can be structured once the legislation takes effect.
For now, safety shoe manufacturers and importers don't need to register with ERP Netherlands. Registering with GGA is already useful, as we're actively collecting safety shoes already!
Frequently asked questions
Does GGA receive data on market volumes from manufacturers?
Data on how many kilograms a manufacturer or importer places on the market is commercially sensitive and is initially shared only with ERP Netherlands. This information is only shared with GGA when necessary for partnership execution, and only with independent staff members. We always comply with applicable competition laws and our own guidelines in this regard.
