The process of collection & recycling

With the Green Gear Alliance, collection and recycling of discarded workwear, work shoes, and PPE is made simple and transparent. From ordering collection materials to receiving impact data: in just a few steps, we ensure that used products find a new purpose and valuable raw materials are preserved. This way, you contribute to a circular supply chain and make your sustainable impact visible.

Report a return
Is the collection material full? Simply report the return via the dashboard. We handle the pickup and processing so that the materials can get a second life.

Sorting the items

Upon arrival, all items are sorted by hand according to material, category, and quality. This determines which path each item follows. We collect all workwear, work shoes, and PPE from all brands and also provide confidential processing for items with company logos.

After sorting, each material goes to the right processing partner. Textiles are largely converted into fiber for moving blankets. Shoes are recycled into new materials or material blends. These can then be used for new applications.

After completion, we update your dashboard with exactly what you've collected. In the impact monitor, you see the complete data per branch, customer, or all together. You can use this for your reports and customer communications. This way, you can directly tell the impact story of what you've collected.

Processing & Recycling

After collection, materials are sorted by specialized partners. Because workwear and PPE are often equipped with company logos, safety features, or signs of use, reuse is often not an option. That's why the focus within the GGA is on recycling.

Recycling of textiles, footwear, and PPE
The majority of collected materials are processed into new raw materials or applications. Depending on the material type, fibers, plastics, and other components can be recovered for new products. This way, valuable raw materials are preserved for as long as possible.

Limited reuse
A small portion of collected materials is still suitable for reuse (currently, approximately 2% of collected products). Think of unused or barely used items that still meet quality standards.

Closing the loop together
By collecting workwear, work shoes, and PPE separately and processing them responsibly, we prevent valuable materials from losing value. Together with manufacturers, dealers, and end-users, we're building a circular supply chain for the industry.
