The Organisation

Green Gear Alliance (GGA) is a non-profit sector initiative, created by and for the industry. Our mission is clear: to build a circular economy for workwear, safety footwear, and personal protective equipment (PPE). We do this by collaborating with all players in the chain, from manufacturers and distributors to collectors, sorters, and recyclers. We also organise and coordinate the practical execution of collection, return logistics, and recycling.

Foundation with a Board

GGA operates as a non-profit governed by an independent board. The board brings together diverse expertise. Some members bring industry knowledge, while others offer fresh external perspectives. This gives us broad representation of knowledge, experience, and stakeholder interests.

The Advisory Board

Beyond the board, GGA has an Advisory Board. Its members provide input on our strategic direction, share their expertise, and offer advice on sector developments and the circular chain.

GGA Team

For day-to-day operations, GGA has its own dedicated team. They handle operational activities, support participants, develop new initiatives, and continue building out our collection and recycling network.

From plc to foundation-structure

Historically, GGA operates alongside both a foundation and a separate private limited company. The plc is also run on a non-profit basis by the foundation. Operations are currently being consolidated under the foundation, after which the GGA plc will be dissolved. This will create a single, clear organisational structure that fully reflects GGA's non-profit character.

The GGA Board

The board currently has five members from within and outside the industry.

Mark is GGA's chair and brings extensive experience. Through his involvement in the sector, he's committed to accelerating the transition to a circular industry. Beyond his board role, Mark is CCO at International VP Textile and COO at Hydrowear.
